Bleaching means opening the cuticle and removing pigment — and along with the pigment, mass leaves the fiber. The hair that comes out of the wash looks fine because it is wet and aligned; the problem shows up three days later, under the brush.
What follows is the order that works in the chair. It matters: the same three products applied out of sequence deliver less than half the result.
The protocol
01 · Cleanse without stripping
Shampoo from the same line, once, with a short massage on the scalp. Two washes on freshly bleached hair strip the little lipid that is left. Remove the excess water with a towel before step 2 — too much water dilutes what comes next.
02 · Give structure back
Rebuilder strand by strand, from mid-length to the ends, respecting the processing time on the label. With high porosity, start with half the dosage. Heat only if the manufacturer says so.
03 · Seal and hand over the maintenance
A finisher or leave-in to close the cuticle, and the home care in the client's hands. Step 3 is what holds the other two together until the next visit.
The interval is part of the protocol
Rebuilding in back-to-back sessions makes the hair stiff. The protein needs time to settle, and the fiber needs water between one session and the next. Seven days is the interval that works in most cases; on badly compromised hair, ten.
Between sessions, what the client uses at home decides whether you start the next appointment from the same place or from further back.
Three decisions that change the result
Dose by porosity, not by length
Long hair with low porosity needs less product than short, porous hair. Dosing by length saturates the wrong hair.
Protection during the chemical service, not only after
The protector goes into the bleach mix. Rebuilding afterwards is repair; protecting during is prevention — and it costs less for both sides.
Home care is not an upsell
It is the third step of the protocol. Without it, the result you delivered has a one-week shelf life.
How to tell whether it worked
Not by how soft it feels on the day — wet and styled, almost any hair looks good. Look at the next visit: if the client comes back in four weeks with the same elasticity and no splitting ends, the protocol held. If she comes back with hair stretching under the brush, what was missing was structure, not hydration.
